
Complete Chippewa Women’s Basketball Schedule Announced

Year three of the Kristin Haynie era begins with MAC-Sun Belt Challenge (Nov. 3), MAC play opens Dec. 20 hosting Northern Illinois
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Women's Basketball will host Purdue (Nov. 30) as one of a four-game stretch against power-conference opponents, part of the nonconference schedule released Wednesday.
The Chippewas will visit Notre Dame (Nov. 24), Michigan (Dec. 3) and Kentucky (Dec. 7) to complete the nonleague gauntlet in early December.
The MAC-Sun Belt Challenge opens the regular season with a visit to Georgia Southern (Nov. 3), with the home contest scheduled for Feb. 7—opponent to be determined via NET rankings in January.
CMU will also host Davenport (Nov. 9) and Eastern Illinois (Nov. 22), plus its exhibition contest against Schoolcraft College (Oct. 28) to round out the home nonconference slate. Visits to Butler (Nov. 12), Detroit Mercy (Nov. 19) and Valparaiso (Dec. 17) complete the nonleague portion.
The Chippewas open league play Dec. 20 with the final visit by Northern Illinois as a conference opponent. The Chippewas host both of its first two league contests prior to the new year as Ohio visits on New Year's Eve.
The 18-game conference slate features home-and-home matchups with six league members (home date listed first): Western Michigan (Feb. 14, Jan. 24), Northern Illinois (Dec. 20, Jan. 31), Kent State (Jan. 7, Feb. 28), Akron (Feb. 10, Jan. 21), MAC-newcomer Massachusetts (Feb. 21, Jan. 10), and Bowling Green (March 4, Jan. 3).
Central Michigan also hosts Ohio (Dec. 31) and Eastern Michigan (Jan. 17) as one-off matchups in the conference slate. Visits to Buffalo (Feb. 4), Miami (OH) (Feb. 18) and Toledo (Feb. 25) round out the league slate.
The Chippewa basketball programs have been slated to share home dates twice, on back-to-back February Saturdays. While the women host Western Michigan Feb 14, UMass Feb. 21, the men will host Northern Illinois and Western Michigan respectively.
Season tickets and parking passes were made available Aug. 18, with a new early-bird pricing system which ends Oct. 3. The Chippewas improved by eight wins overall, five in league play from the first to second year, finishing at 14-17 (9-9 MAC).
