Yturralde leads Chippewas with a T14 finish
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Keith Hunter shot an even-par 70 on Monday to lead the Central Michigan men's golf team during the final round of the inaugural Jim DeLapa Collegiate at storied Point O' Woods Golf & Country Club.
The Chippewas, who hosted the tournament, posted a 291 team score on Monday to finish the 54-hole event with an 879 total and in 12th place in the 13-team field.
Philippe Yturralde posted the best finish, a tie for 14th, among CMU players. He shot a final-round 4-over 74 for a 1-under 209 total.
Hunter finished tied for 52nd at 218.
Also for CMU on Monday, Jeffrey Andrus shot 73, Hudson Vedder carded a 74, Jeffrey Sager posted a 78, and Nicholas Kilgore, playing as an individual, shot 81.
Andrus finished with a 228 total and tied for 67th place, Sager finished at 229 and in 69th, Vedder finished at 230 and in 70th place, and Kilgore finished 71st at 233.
Michigan's Dean Muratore closed with a 4-under 66 for a 196 total to claim medalist honors. He finished one shot ahead of San Jose State's Keshav Mungali, who tied for the low round on Monday with a 5-under 65.
San Jose State posted a 269 score on Monday to finish at 825 to claim the team title. The Spartans finished five shots ahead of second-place Princeton.
