Rulli finds second goal of the season, Billig logs five saves
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Central Michigan Field Hockey fell 2-1 against New Hamphsire Sunday in a neutral site matchup hosted by Indiana.
Sophomore forward Mora Rulli logged her team leading second goal of the season early in the second quarter off a corner attempt set up by Carolena Ryon and Violet Barton earning them each their first assist of the season.
The Wildcats found the back of the cage first, scoring unassisted in the eighth minute. They found the winner on a penalty attempt two minutes into the second half.
The Chippewas set a season high of 12 shots with Carolena Ryon putting up a team high four in just 23 minutes of play. Central Michigan recorded six shots on target, three coming from Ryon.
New Hampshire recorded 16 shots, seven landing on target alongside eight corner attempts.
"We're knocking on the door. We're showing stretches of really good hockey, but now it's about putting together a complete performance and turning that into a result," Head Coach Kelly Terwilliger said, "I believe in this group, and I believe we're closer than our record shows."
Central Michigan returns to action in Bloomington on Labor Day, Sept. 7, for a noon matchup against Big Ten opponent Indiana. The match will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
