Nicole Dunham serves as an associate director of strength and conditioning, overseeing Olympic sport strength and conditioning and weight room operations. She also serves as a liaison to the department's senior leadership team.
She was appointed to her position in July, 2023 after serving as the department's assistant director of strength and conditioning for the previous 18 months.
Among her day-to-day responsibilities are the design and implementation of all performance components including strength, speed, power, agility and conditioning along with nutrition tailored to player/team requirements.
She is the co-coordinator of internship curriculum and day-to-day internship operations and serves as a liaison between strength and conditioning and CMU's exercise science department.
Dunham began her professional career in 2022 as the strength and conditioning coach for the Chippewa women’s basketball program after completing an internship with CMU Athletics. She also performed internships at Elon, at Total Sports Performance, and at Phoenix Athletics. She worked as a personal trainer/fitness specialist at Morey Courts Recreation Center in Mount Pleasant.
Dunham, who is married to Mason Dunham, earned a bachelor of science degree with a major in exercise science/health fitness and a minor in substance abuse education from CMU in 2019. She holds a master's science in exercise physiology, which she earned from CMU in May, 2021.
She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified strength and conditioning coach with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
