Field Hockey Falls To Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Central Michigan University field hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision to the University of Louisville on Friday afternoon.
The loss drops CMU's record to 8-9 overall and 4-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
Louisville got on the scoreboard first with a goal by Susan Sattazahn with 25:27 left in the first half. CMU countered with a goal by Brianne Tallinger (Rochester, NY/Sr.) at the 11:00 mark to knot the score at 1-1.
The Cardinals took back the lead late in the first half and went on to score four unanswered goals in the second half to secure the win. UL's Lainey Habeeb scored with 33 seconds left in the opening half to give Louisville the 2-1 advantage. Jennifer Welgosh and Keri Beckhorn each scored two goals in the second half for Louisville.
CMU goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/So.) made 13 saves while Louisville's Christy Hershey made three.
The Chippewas close out the regular season with a game at Miami on Saturday.
