Women's Basketball Posts First Win

ORONO, Maine--The Central Michigan women's basketball team picked up its first win of the year with a 69-52 win over Harvard in the consolation game of the Dead River Company Classic on Saturday afternoon at Alfond Arena.
The win raises CMU's record to 1-3 while Harvard falls to 0-3.
The Chippewas held an 11-point lead (35-24) at the half en route to the win.
Central outshot Harvard .440 (22-50) to .306 (19-62) and held the edge in rebounding, 40-36.
Four of CMU's starters scored in double figures. Central was led by Molli Munz (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Jr.) who had a game-high 26 points. Munz shot 7-12 from the floor, 4-6 from the three-point line and 8-10 from the charity stripe.
Munz was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts. She scored 12 points in CMU's semifinal game against Maine.
Laurie Henderson (Newark, Ohio/So.) had 15 points, Vershaun Jones (Detroit/Jr.) had 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds and Mandy Elwer (Delphos, Ohio/Fr.) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Harvard was led by Hana Peljto who had 10 points.
The Chippewas travel to Cleveland State on Nov. 29.
