ATHENS, Ohio -- The Central Michigan University field hockey team (5-5, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) failed to score a goal against the MAC-leading Ohio Bobcats on Friday. Ohio topped the Chippewas by a 4-0 count.
Ohio gained a 1-0 advantage with 20:21 left in the first half with a goal by Liz Holtzman. The score remained the same until the Bobcats put the Chippewas away in the second half, scoring three goals in a 10-minute span. Goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham,N.Y./Jr.) tied a season high with 11 saves in the loss, and Meliss Lazarevski (Rochester, N.Y./Sr.) recorded a season high with eight shots on goal.
The Chippewas return to action on Saturday at Kent State. The match is slated to start at 1p.m.
