Field Hockey Falls To Louisville, 3-1

MT. PLEASANT -- The Central Michigan University field hockey team (3-3, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) was defeated by Louisville, 3-1, in its first MAC loss of the 2001 campaign.
The Cardinals got on the board first with 29:45 remaining when Daniel Barr scored on a penalty corner with assists from Pip Sanders and Olivia Netzler. The Chippewas notched the game at one a piece when Katrina Woznek (Amherst, N.Y./Sr.) slipped one passed the goalie after receiving a pass from Melissa Lazarevski (Rochester, N.Y./Sr.).
Midway through the second, with 25:20 remaining, the Cardinals regained the lead for good on a Susan Sattazahn goal. Louisville's Olivia Netzler added another goal with 11:40 remaining in the game to finish off the scoring.
Goalkeeper Janel Spero (Shoreham, N.Y./Jr.) faced 11 shots and stopped eight in recording her third loss of the season.
The Chippewas return to action Tuesday, Sept. 25, when they travel to East Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans at 7:30 p.m.
