Oxford, Ohio - The Central Michigan University field hockey team (8-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) held Miami University scoreless for the third straight time in a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Michelle Fogle (Columbus, Ohio/So.) led the way for the Chippewas with a career-high three points. She notched her third goal of the season and her first career assist.
Kristy Reed (South Wales, N.Y./So.) scored the other CMU goal. It was her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
CMU goalkeeper Janel Spero (Shoreham, N.Y./Sr.) made 2 saves in earning her fourth shutout of the season and the 11th of her career.
The Chippewas return to Kelly/Shorts Stadium for the first time in a month when they take on Ohio on Thursday, October 10, at 1 p.m.
