PRINCETON, N.J. - The Central Michigan wrestling team (9-5, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) got back on the winning track with a victory over Princeton Friday night, 34-7.
The Tigers struck first with a win at 174 pounds by sixth-ranked Greg Parker, but Central tied it up with a win at 184 by Jeff Pangborn (Durand/So.). Princeton retook the lead with a victory at 197 but that was as close as it would get. CMU would win the last seven matches of the dual to secure the victory. To get CMU rolling Jack Leffler (Morris, Ill./Sr.) scored a pin at heavyweight to give Central the momentum.
Picking up wins for Central Michigan was Jason Borrelli (Mount Pleasant/Fr.) at 125, Jordan Webster (Washington, Ill./Jr.) at 133, Jason Mester (Mineral Pointe, Wis./So.) at 141, Ty Morgan (Huber Heights, Ohio/So.) at 149, David Bolyard (Akron, Ohio/Fr.) at 157 and Joe Ray Barry (Mason/So.) at 165.
CMU returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 17, when it travels to Philadelphia, Pa. to battle the Penn. The dual is set to start at 2:00 p.m.
