Women's Track Finishes Second At Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Central Michigan women's track team scored 188.5 points in the Indiana Four Way on the campus of Indiana University Saturday afternoon, but fell short of Indiana's 217.5 points.
Taking first place for the Chippewas were Kari Karhoff in the 400 meter hurdles (1:00.31) and Suzy Bozin, capturing her first high jump victory of the outdoor season with a leap of 5-9 3/4.
Other top performers for CMU included second-place showings by Erin Miner in the 800 meter dash (2:14.33), Abby Jaroscak in the 100 meter hurdles (14.45), Maria Derezinski in the high jump (5-4 1/4), Melissa Brousseau in the shot put (47-4 1/2) and the discus (148 1/2), the 4x100 meter relay team (46.83) and the 4x400 meter relay team (3:52.92).
The Chippewa's had won their previous two scored meets, dating back to the Mid-American Conference indoor championship.
Central Michigan returns to action on April 19 when it travels to Lawrence, Kan., to take part in the two-day Kansas Relays.
