CMU Women Fall at Northern Illinois, 49-43

DeKALB, Ill. -- Central Michigan University lost its fourth straight Mid-American Conference women's basketball game here Wednesday night, falling to Northern Illinois University by a 49-43 margin.
The Chippewas are now 7-10 for the season, 1-5 in MAC play. The host Huskies are 6-10 and 2-3 in conference action.
CMU held a 22-16 lead at the half but was outscored in the final 20 minutes by a 33-21 margin.
NIU shot only 22 percent in the first half but found the range in the second to pull away. The Huskies connected on 52.4 percent from the floor. For the game, NIU hit 17-of-48 for 35.4 percent to CMU's 16-of-54 for 29.6 percent.
The Huskies also held a 39-35 edge in rebounding. Desiree Eidson led CMU with seven.
Freshman guard Erin Kuhl was the lone Chippewa in double digits with a game-high 13 points. She also had two rebounds, three assists, six steals, and no turnovers. Raina Harmon was next for CMU with eight.
After playing three games in five days, coach Eileen Kleinfelter's Chippewas are idle until a Tuesday, January 28, home tilt with MAC East power Kent State University. Tipoff in Rose Arena is set for 7 p.m.
