Field Hockey Tops Ohio State, 2-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Central Michigan University field hockey team scored a pair of goals within a minute for a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Ohio State on Sunday afternoon.
Allyson Doan notched her second goal of the season to tie the match in the 50th minute with an assist from Kristy Reed. Just 54 seconds later, Erica Takach recorded her fourth match-winning goal of the season. Takach scored off a penalty corner with Stasia Burroughs and Michelle Fogle assisting on the play. Burroughs leads the team with five assists this season and Fogle is second with four.
The Chippewas even their overall record at 4-4 with the victory while Ohio State falls to 5-5.
The match was a homecoming for two Chippewas; head coach Cristy Freese played and graduated from OSU and senior Michelle Fogle is from Columbus, Ohio.
The Buckeyes took the early lead with a goal from Jessica Gofgosky 17 minutes into the first half.
Ohio State dominated CMU in terms of shots and penalty corners. OSU out shot the Chippewas, 23-8, and recorded nine penalty corners compared to three for CMU.
CMU continues its seven-match road trip on Tuesday as it heads to Michigan State for a match at 4 p.m. The match was originally schedule to take place at CMU but was moved because of the continuing construction on CMU's new field.
