Five-Time Defending MAC Champions Announce 2015 Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan head coach Jerry Reighard has announced the five-time defending Mid-American Conference champion's 2015 schedule, which features five home meets, including duals two versus league opponents.
CMU will open the 2015 season at McGuirk Arena versus Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, Jan. 3, hosting the Blugolds in a 1 p.m. dual meet. The following week, Big Ten power Illinois, a team which was ranked as high as No. 11 nationally in 2014, will visit Mount Pleasant. The dual between the Chippewas and the Illini is set for Sunday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m.
An early season three-meet home stand will conclude on Saturday, Jan. 17 (7 p.m.) when CMU hosts a tri-meet featuring MAC foe Eastern Michigan and Seattle Pacific.
The Chippewas will take to the road for the remainder of the month, first visiting Ball State on Jan. 23 (7 p.m.). On Jan. 31, CMU will take part in the Michigan vs. Illinois Invite for the third consecutive year on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, Ill.
The first three weeks of the month of February will be key to Central Michigan's regular season conference fortunes, as dual meets versus MAC opponents Northern Illinois (Feb. 6), Kent State (Feb. 15) and Bowling Green (Feb. 22) mark the schedule.
The Chippewas will end February by beginning a three-meet road swing, as they will travel to California to face off against host UC Davis, Sacramento State and Iowa in a quad competition on Feb. 27. CMU will then wrap up the regular season at BYU (March 6) and Western Michigan (March 15).
CMU will seek its sixth-straight conference crown on Saturday, March 21 at the 2015 MAC Championships. Kent State will host the annual competition at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center in Kent, Ohio.
The NCAA Regionals are scheduled for Saturday, April 4. Preliminary round host sites include Ames, Iowa, Auburn, Ala., Berkeley, Calif., Columbus, Ohio, Morgantown W.Va. and Norman, Okla.
The 2015 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships are set for April 17-19 at the Forth Worth Convention Center Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Reighard, who has amassed 531 wins in 30 seasons with the Chippewas, returns for 2015 MAC uneven bars champion Kylie Fagan and NCAA qualifiers Taylor Noonan and Halle Moraw.
