
Fitzpatrick Wins Beam; Chippewas Drop Dual Finale

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Central Michigan gymnastics team dropped its final Mid-American Conference dual of the season on Thursday at Eastern Michigan, 196.250-194.125.
The Chippewas finished the dual meet season 12-3 overall, 4-2 MAC. They will partake in the MAC Championships next Saturday in Muncie, Ind., hosted by Ball State.
Southeastern Missouri also participated in Thursday's meet, finishing third with a 191.800 team score.
CMU junior Caroline Fitzpatrick won the balance beam with a career-best 9.900.
The Chippewas' other top finishes came from Megan Lamphere, who was third on uneven parallel bars (9.875); from Taylor Bolender, who tied for third on floor exercise (9.875); and from Karlee Teet, who tied for fourth on vault (9.975).
Alexis Brawner of Southeast Missouri won the vault with a 9.850 score. She also took the all-round with a 38.275.
Eastern's Catie Conrad and Kendall Valentin tied for first on bars (9.900), and the Eagles' Ciara Gresham and Rachel Slocum shared first place on floor (9.850).
