CMU's Clements Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Katy Clements was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Specialist of the Week after scoring a career-best 9.925 on balance beam in helping the Chippewas to a league dual victory over Bowling Green.
Clements, a senior from Gainsville, Ga., edged teammates Karlee Teet and Caroline Fitzpatrick (9.900) to win the event. Clements posted a 9.700 score to finished tied with teammate Rachel Carr for seventh place on vault.
Clements shared the Specialist of the Week Award with Ball State sophomore Jordyn Penny.
The Chippewas won the meet, 195.750-191.150, to improve to 12-2 overall and 4-1 in the MAC. CMU closes the regular season on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with a conference dual at Eastern Michigan.
