MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan field hockey team fell to Kent State, 7-0, in a Mid-American Conference matchup at the CMU Field Hockey Complex on Friday.
The Chippewas (0-15, 0-4 MAC) will travel to Miami (Ohio) for a conference contest on Friday, Oct. 20 (5 p.m.). The RedHawks are 6-6, 4-0.
Kent State scored three first-half goals, the first off the stick of Helen Harper at the 8:26 mark. Harper and Jessica Apelt finished with two goals apiece.
"We had some chances, but then the first goal went in and we didn't respond very well," CMU coach Molly Pelowski said. "It's something we need to continue to work on and something I'll be talking to our leaders about."
Lily Amadio and Abigal Ebersole split time in the cage for Central Michigan, making three and four saves, respectively.
"We put (Ebersole) in a challenging position, coming in after half when we're three down," Pelowski said. "I thought she made some big saves and we want to get her more game experience."
Samantha Glapinski had two shots, one of which was on goal, for the Chippewas. Alex Gonda and Alli Huddleson recorded one shot apiece.
Kent State tallied 30 shots.
