
Gymnastics Falls At Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Central Michigan gymnastics team dropped a Mid-American Conference dual at Ball State on Sunday.
Ball State finished with a 195.425 team total to the Chippewas' 194.000. CMU slipped to 6-3, 1-2 MAC. Ball State if 4-6, 2-0.
The 194.000 was CMU's lowest score since it posted a 192.075 in its season-opening tri-meet.
The Chippewas finished first or tied for first in each of the four events.
CMU's Denelle Pedrick won the vault (9.900); Katy Clements tied for first (9.850) with Ball State's Baylee Bell on balance beam; Bryttany Kaplan tied with Jordyn Penny of Ball State for first on parallel bars (9.800); and Macey Hilliker tied for first on floor with the Cardinals' Kaitlyn Menzione (9.850).
CMU's Gianna Plaksa won the all-around with a 39.000 score. Plaksa tied for fifth on vault (9.800), was fifth on bars (9.750), was fifth on beam (9.750) and posted a 9.700 on floor.
The Chippewas go to Kent State for a MAC meet on Sunday, Feb. 19 (1 p.m.).
