CMU's Clements Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Katy Clements has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.
Clements, a junior from Gainesville, Ga., played an instrumental role in bringing home a narrow victory for the Chippewas at Kent State.
Clements took first on balance beam with a career-best 9.925. Making her performance all the more remarkable was that it came in the anchor spot in the last rotation of the meet, giving CMU a 195.775-195.675 victory.
Clements placed second on floor exercise (9.900) and was fourth on vault (9.850). It marked the second time this season that Clements has earned the weekly MAC honor.
The Chippewas entertain Bowling Green in a MAC meet on Sunday, Feb. 26 ( 1 p.m.).
