YPSILANTI, Mich. - Every player on Central Michigan's roster scored on Saturday as the Chippewa women's basketball team rolled to a 104-63 Mid-American Conference victory over Eastern Michigan at the Eagles' Convocation Center.
Tinara Moore recorded her 22nd career double-double with 27 points and a season-high 13 rebounds to lead CMU. The junior forward did so without playing in the fourth quarter.
The win improved Central Michigan to 16-6, 8-2 MAC. They remain at third in the MAC West, trailing one game behind first-place Northern Illinois, which is 9-1 in league play. The Chippewas go to Northern Illinois on Wednesday. The Eagles fell to 6-15, 1-9.
"I'm happy with what we did," said CMU Coach Sue Guevara. "We were hungry and we played like we were hungry."
Five other Chippewas scored in double figures. Reyna Frost had 15 points, Cassie Breen, Jewel Cotton, Jasmine Harris and Aaliah Hill had 10 each. It was a career-high for Hill, a redshirt freshman.
CMU outscored Eastern, 62-32, in the paint and went over the century mark for the second time this season. The first was a 101-point effort in a nine-point home win over Ball State a month ago.
"We were able to get the ball inside and we got running a little bit." Guevara said. "We're tough to defend when all the weapons seem to be firing."
The Central Michigan bench produced 36 points and 11 of 12 Chippewas played double-figure minutes. CMU shot 42 of 80 from the field and 39.1 percent from behind the arc.
Presley Hudson also made advances in the Central Michigan record book. Her two 3-pointers gave her 149 for her career and moved her into seventh place in program history, ahead of Crystal Bradford (2011-15) and Taylor Johnson (2010-14).
CMU hit the century mark with just under two minutes to play, when freshman forward Gabrielle Bird hit a 3-pointer that extended the Chippewas' lead to 102-60.
Sasha Dailey led the Eagles with 25 points. CMU has won four straight against Eastern.
CMU's Wednesday's opponent, Northern Illinois, won its fourth straight game on Saturday, defeating Western Michigan, 67-62, at home. NIU is 16-5 overall.
