• The Central Michigan gymnastics team closes the regular season on Saturday by entertaining Northern Illinois in a Mid-American Conference dual.
• It is the home finale for the Chippewas, and final McGuirk Arena meet for CMU seniors Kirstin Stambaugh, Shaila Segal, Caroline Fitzpatrick and Rachel Carr.
• The Huskies are tied for the top spot in the MAC standings with Eastern Michigan. If NIU wins on Saturday, it will be its first MAC title.
• The Chippewas are one of four teams tied for third in the conference.
• Both CMU and NIU will partake in the MAC Championships at Bowling Green on Saturday, March 18.
• CMU posted a 196.375 team score last weekend in topping Rutgers in a nonconference meet at McGuirk.
• The 196.375 was the highest score by a MAC team this season and the eighth-best score in program history.
• Included in that 196.375 total was a season-best 49.175 on balance beam.
• CMU junior Macey Hilliker won the floor exercise with a career-best 9.950, a performance that earned her MAC Specialist of the Week honors.
• Chippewa sophomore Kasey Janowicz tied her individual best and set a CMU season-high with a 39.400 all around score. She was first on parallel bars (9.900), second on vault (9.800), fifth on beam (9.825), and third on floor (9.875). She was named the MAC Gymnast of the Week.
• CMU ranks 35th nationally with a 195.085 average, which is third among MAC teams. NIU ranks 43rd (194.485).
• The Chippewas are ranked 30th nationally on floor exercise, 45th on balance beam, 39th on parallel bars, 28th on vault. NIU is ranked 35th on floor, 58th on beam, 28th on bars, and 46th on vault.
