
Chippewas Sweep MAC Gymnastics Awards

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Kasey Janowicz and Macey Hilliker have earned individual accolades from the Mid-American Conference.
Janowicz was named the league's Gymnast of the Week and Hilliker received the Specialist of the Week Award for their performances in CMU's victory on Sunday over Rutgers.
Janowicz, a sophomore from Bay City, posted a career-best 39.400 in winning the all around against the Scarlet Knights, leading the Chippewas to victory with a season-high 196.375.
Janowicz's 39.400 was the second-best all-around score by a MAC gymnast this season, and the Chippewas' 196.375 was the highest posted by a league squad this season.
Highlighting Janowicz's day was a 9.900 on parallel bars and a season-best 9.825 on balance beam. She won bars and tied for fifth on beam, and she also placed second on vault with a 9.800 and was third (9.875) on floor exercise.
Hilliker, a junior from Bay City, won the floor exercise against Rutgers with a career-best 9.950, a mark that ranks as the second-best for a MAC gymnast this season.
The Chippewas close the regular season at home on Saturday (2 p.m.) with a MAC dual against Northern Illinois.
