Nine CMU Gymnasts Named Academic All-MAC

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Nine Central Michigan student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference gymnastics team.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 or better grade point average and appear in at least 50 percent of her team's meets. True freshman and first-year transfers are ineligible.
The nine Chippewas named to the squad, with year, GPA and major: Courtney Campbell, junior, 3.58, biomedical sciences; Rachel Carr, senior, 3.47, exercise science/health fitness; Katy Clements, junior, 3.47, journalism/public relations; Caroline Fitzpatrick, senior, 3.39, exercise science/kinesiology; Bryttany Kaplan, junior, 3.92, commercial recreation; Kasey Janowicz, sophomore, 3.26, sport management; Kailey Miller, sophomore, 3.42, biomedical sciences; Gianna Plaksa, sophomore, 3.94, biomedical sciences; Shaila Segal, senior, 3.63, statistics.
Fitzpatrick and Carr were named to the squad for the third consecutive year, while Clements and Kaplan earned a spot on the team for the second straight year.
