
Chippewas Fall To South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. - The Central Michigan baseball team managed just three hits on Saturday in dropping a 6-0 nonconference decision to South Florida at USF Stadium.
The Chippewas (2-12-1) and Bulls (9-6) play the third and final game of their series on Sunday (noon). It is also CMU's final game of its Spring Break trip. The Chippewas are scheduled to face Lawrence Tech on Tuesday, March 13 (3:05 p.m.), in their home opener at Theunissen Stadium.
AT THE PLATE
Daniel Robinson, Jacob Crum and Zach Heeke each singled to account for CMU's hits off winning pitcher Peter Strzelecki.
ON THE MOUND
Sophomore left-hander Tyler Hankins started for CMU and took the loss. Hankins (0-2) went surrendered six runs (four earned) on seven hits, walked one and struck out two over five innings.
Brandon Reed and Logan Buczkowski pitched in relief. Reed recorded four strikeouts over two innings, while Buczkowski had one. Neither allowed a walk.
Strezelecki walked two and struck out 12 over seven innings. Connor Eason pitched two innings in relief.
