MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Three Central Michigan gymnasts, Katy Clements, Gianna Plaksa and Denelle Pedrick, were all named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team.
It marks the third consecutive season that Clements, a senior from Gainesville, Ga., was named to the second team. It marks the first time that Plaksa, a junior from Mountain Top, Pa., and Pedrick, a sophomore from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, have been so honored.
Athletes were selected to the All-MAC first and second teams based upon individual conference rankings of the Regional Qualifying Standard (RQS).
Clements' RQS on balance beam is 9.915, which is tied for tenth in the nation; Plaksa's RQS on uneven bars is 9.875 and is tied for 43rd nationally; and Pedrick's RQS on vault is 9.870, which is tied for 39th place in the nation.
The Chippewas are scheduled to compete in the MAC Championships on Saturday (2 p.m.) in their home gym, McGuirk Arena.
