Pedrick Named MAC Gymnast Of The Week

It marks the third time this season that CMU junior has been so honored

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Denelle Pedrick has been named the Mid-American Conference gymnast of the week.

Pedrick, a junior from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, posted a season-best all-round score of 39.275 in leading the Chippewas to a MAC dual victory at Kent State on Sunday. Pedrick's all-around score is tied for the highest by a MAC gymnast this season.

Pedrick tied for first on both vault and balance beam, finished second on floor exercise, and was third on uneven parallel bars. Her 9.800 on vault was her best score in the event this season, and she tied her season-best scores on both beam and floor, posting a 9.850 in both.

It marks the third time this season that Pedrick has earned the MAC Gymnast of the Week Award.

The Chippewas, who are 9-1, 2-0 MAC, entertain Eastern Michigan in a MAC dual on Friday (7 p.m.) at McGuirk Arena.
