CMU Golfers Head To Virginia For William & Mary Intercollegiate

15-team field includes MAC foes Akron, Eastern Michigan
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan golf team returns to action this week at the William & Mary Intercollegiate at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
The two-day, 54-hole, stroke-play event begins with the first two rounds on Monday, March 19, and concludes on Tuesday, March 20. Monday's first round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with the second round to follow immediately. Tuesday's final round is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
The tournament will be played on the resort's River Course, which plays to par 72 over 6,025 yards.
Scheduled to join the Chippewas and the host Tribe in the 15-team field are Akron, Eastern Michigan, High Point, Indiana State, Longwood, Loyola-Chicago, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Penn, Seton Hall, St. Francis (Pa.), Wagner and Yale.
Seton Hall is the highest-ranked team in the field at 99, while Penn is ranked 126th. Akron, which is ranked 191st, is the defending champion.
The Chippewas last played in the Bethune-Cookman LadyCat Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla., finishing 12th in the 15-team field. Jami Laude led CMU with a 54-hole 232 total, tying for 16th place. CMU's Rachel Leucuta, playing as an individual, finished among a group tied for 33rd with a 233 total.
The Chippewas are scheduled to participate in the Georgia State John Kirk Panther Invitational in Stockbridge, Ga. March 31-April 2.
