NAPLES, Italy – Central Michigan senior Denelle Pedrick has added another successful chapter to her storied gymnastics career, shining in recent competition at the 30th Annual World University Games, held in Naples, Italy.
Representing her native Canada, Pedrick placed seventh in the all-around with a score of 49.800, the highest finish among North Americans. Her top event was the vault, in which she was the runner-up, posting a score of 14.250. She also placed sixth in the floor exercise (12.300), eighth in the balance beam (12.000) and 15th in the bars (11.250).

"She is a great ambassador for our university, and she continues to represent CMU and our gymnastics program at the highest levels. Her success at these games was a testimony to her drive and passion to excel on a world stage. "
Pedrick had a standout junior season in 2019, earning Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Year and First Team All-MAC honors in addition to being named MAC Gymnast of the Week six times. The Wilcox, Saskatchewan native captured MAC titles in the all-around and the vault in 2019.
