Chippewas eye MAC opener next weekend
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team will face a pair of ranked Big Ten opponents this weekend.
The Chippewas (2-3) will play at Ohio State on Friday (4 p.m.) and then return to Mount Pleasant to entertain Michigan on Sunday (1 p.m.).
The Opponents
Ohio State, which is ranked 12th nationally, is 3-1 and coming off a 2-1 loss at No. 6 Virginia. That loss ended a three-game win streak.
Michigan (2-2) is ranked 11th. The Wolverines play host to No. 3 Connecticut on Friday.
The Chippewas
After winning their first two games of the season for the first time since 2013, the Chippewas have lost three straight, capped by a 2-0 home loss on Tuesday to UC Davis.

CMU goes to Longwood in Farmville, Va. on Friday, Sept. 20, for its Mid-American Conference opener. The Chippewas then play at Saint Francis in Loretto, Pa. on Sunday, Sept. 22 for a nonleague game.
