Tong Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan gymnast Morgan Tong was named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week for her performance in the Chippewas' victory over Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
Tong, a sophomore from Markham, Ont., Can., posted a career-best 9.900 in winning the balance beam as the Chippewas scored 195.100 in improving to 3-0 overall, 1-0 MAC.
Tong, who last year earned the MAC Freshman of the Year Award, and the Chippewas go to Ohio State on Saturday for a nonconference tri-meet with the Buckeyes and Maryland.
