DeMers Earns Weekly MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Hannah DeMers has been named the Mid-American Gymnast of the Week.
DeMers, a freshman from Canton, posted a combined four firsts in the Chippewas' dual meets with Western Michigan and with Illinois.
DeMers helped lead the Chippewas to a season-best 196.075 team score in their victory over the Broncos.
She won the uneven parallel bars with a career-best 9.950 (including a 10 from one judge) and the all-around (39.375). She also placed second on vault and sixth on balance beam. Her all-around score was a career best.
In Sunday's meet at Illinois, DeMers won the vault (9.850) and the all-around (39.350) while tying for third on beam (9.800) and on floor exercise (9.875). Her beam and floor scores were career bests.
