Field Hockey Falls To Saint Louis In Double OT

MARYLAND HTS., Mo. – Saint Louis scored with just over five minutes remaining in the second overtime on Sunday in defeating Central Michigan, 3-2, in a nonconference field hockey game at SportPort International.
The Chippewas, who are 3-12, conclude the season with a two-game home series with Appalachian State on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29-30, at Cristy Freese Field. Friday's game will count in the Mid-American Conference standings; Saturday's will not.
Kate Biglin and Kaitlyn Bowker scored for CMU, which led 2-0 at halftime. Rachel Ruttenberg assisted on Bowker's goal.
It was the third goal of the season for both Biglin and Bowker. They share the team lead with Ruttenberg.
Saint Louis (3-13) finished with a 19-13 advantage in shots including 10-6 in shots on goal. The Billikens had nine penalty corners to CMU's six.
Chippewa goalkeeper Katie Maxim made seven saves.
