Pitchell Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Taylor Pitchell has been named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week for gymnastics.
Pitchell, a sophomore from Wethersfield, Conn., posted a career-best 9.950 to tie for first on the floor exercise in helping the Chippewas to a MAC dual victory over Northern Illinois. Pitchell's score, which included a 10.0 from one judge, matches the top score by a MAC gymnast this season.
Pitchell's performance helped CMU to a 196.300 score, the Chippewas' best score in three seasons.
CMU is scheduled to go to Kent State for a MAC dual on Sunday, Feb. 21.
