DeMers Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Hannah DeMers earned the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week Award for gymnastics on Tuesday.
DeMers, a sophomore from Canton, won the uneven parallel bars with a 9.925 score and placed second on the vault with a 9.825 in helping the Chippewas to a season-high 195.050 team score as they captured a MAC dual meet at Bowling Green last Friday.
DeMers leads the MAC and ranks 12th in the nation with a 9.833 average on bars.
The Chippewas are scheduled to entertain Northern Illinois on Thursday (2 p.m.) in their home opener.
