Track & Field Heads To Oakland On Saturday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan track & field team will partake in the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Invitational on Saturday at Oakland Track & Field.
The meet is scheduled to begin at noon with the women's hammer throw, men's javelin, women's long jump and the triple jump for both genders. Running events are set to begin at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. The final event of the day, the men's 5,000 meters, is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
Spectators will not be allowed inside the fenced perimeter of the facility.
The Chippewas competed last weekend at the Louisville Invitational. They won the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 relay in the meet and the Chippewas had a strong showing in the hammer throw, with three athletes, including runner-up Marissa Dunn, finishing in the top eight.
CMU is scheduled to go next weekend to the Indiana State Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
