Nine Chippewa Gymnasts Named Academic All-MAC

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Nine Central Michigan gymnasts were named on Tuesday to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team.
The Chippewas named to the squad (with year, hometown, major and grade point average): Sierra DeMarinis, junior, Montgomery, Mass., biology, 3.89; Hannah DeMers, sophomore, Canton, health administration, 3.84; Nora Fettinger, senior, Hemlock, biology, 4.00; Audriana Hammond, sophomore, Elk Rapids, exercise science, 3.95; Kennedy Johnson, senior, Cordova, Tenn., geography, 3.60; Savana Kotas, sophomore, Augusta, Ga., exercise science, 4.00; Morgan Tong, junior, Markham, Ont., Can., mathematics, 3.67; Ashley Veglucci, sophomore, Coram, N.Y., exercise science, 3.86; and Sydney Williams, senior, Germantown, Tenn., broadcast and cinematic arts, 3.46.
It marks the third time that Fettinger and Johnson have earned Academic All-MAC honors; DeMarinis and Tong were named to the team in 2020.
Fettinger is one of nine on the squad to have earned a perfect 4.00 GPA.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a grade point average of 3.20 or better and have participated in at least 50 percent of her team's competitions.
