18 CMU Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan ranked 12th nationally and 18 Chippewa student-athletes earned Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association for the 2022 season.
Coach Christine MacDonald's Chippewas posted a combined 3.7177 cumulative grade point average during 2021-22. It is the 12th best among Division I women's gymnastics teams nationally.
The Chippewas who earned Scholastic All-America honors are Avah Anthes, Adriana Bustelo
Elizabeth Buttle, Elizabeth Cesarone, Sierra DeMarinis, Hannah DeMers, Alexis Garcia, Audriana Hammond, Brenna Hauser, Hallie Hornbacher, Lia Kmieciak, Aleysia Kolynanova, Savana Kotas, Katie Kowalski, Amber Mueller, Christie Tini, Morgan Tong and Ashley Veglucci.
A gymnast must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better in order to earn Scholastic All-American honors. Hauser and Kotas both carry a cumulative GPA of 4.00.
