Chippewas fall to Lions on Senior Day

Lindenwood defeats Central Michigan 2-1
Mount Pleasant, Mich. – Central Michigan Field Hockey celebrated their Seniors sunday afternoon in their weekend finale against the Lindenwood University Lions. After a late push ultimately came up short for the Chippewas, the final score was 2-1 in favor of the Lions.

The Chippewas came alive in the fourth quarter after Katie Maxim relived Maja Halasz at the top of the period. In the fourth CMU put up six shots and scored their sole goal of the game.

Klara Mikulaskova scored Central Michigan's goal with 6 minutes remaining in the game. The freshman's first career goal came off a corner inserted by Cosima Perleth to cut the Lions led in half.

Halasz was able to secure six saves on the day before being relived by Maxim in the fourth. Maxim faced two shots allowing no goals.

The Chippewas will be back in action on Oct. 6 (12:00 p.m.) for a neutral site conference game against Bellarmine University at Louisville University.
