Hannah DeMers Named MAC Gymnast of the Week for Second Time

Following a stellar all-around performance vs. Western Michigan, DeMers earns MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the 11th time in her career.

CLEVELAND, Ohio—For the second time in 2023, Central Michigan senior Hannah DeMers was named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor marks the 11^th time in her four-year career that DeMers has been named the MAC Gymnast of the Week. She has now earned 12 total MAC weekly honors in her career.

On Sunday, DeMers enjoyed another strong performance against Western Michigan as she won the all-around competition with a season-best 39.525 score after finishing first in three out of the four events. She registered a career-high 9.925 to tie for first on the balance beam and tied for first on bars (9.875), and on vault (9.850). On floor, she finished in third place with a 9.875.

Central Michigan is 3-1 in MAC competition and 5-2 overall.

Central Michigan is back in action on Sunday, Feb. 26 at Ball State. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
