Hannah DeMers Named MAC Gymnast of the Week for Third Time This Year

Following another outstanding all-around performance at Ball State, DeMers claims the MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the second week in a row and 12th time in her career.

CLEVELAND, Ohio—For the third time in 2023 and second consecutive week, Central Michigan senior Hannah DeMers was named the Mid-American Conference's Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor marks the 12^th time in her four-year career that DeMers has been named the MAC Gymnast of the Week. She has now earned 13 total MAC weekly honors in her career.

On Sunday, DeMers turned in another great performance as she won the all-around competition for the fourth straight meet as she totaled a 39.475 score. She posted the best score in beam by tying a career-high with a 9.925, tied for the top score in bars (9.875), placed second in vault with a career-high tying 9.900, and took sixth in floor (9.775).

Central Michigan now is 3-2 in MAC competition and 5-3 overall.

Central Michigan is back in action on Sunday, March 5 at West Virginia. The meet begins at 2 p.m.
