Hannah DeMers Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Following an outstanding all-around performance vs. Eastern Michigan, DeMers earns MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the 10th time in her career.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—Central Michigan senior Hannah DeMers was named the Mid-American Conference's Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning. The honor marks the 10th time in her four-year career that DeMers has been named the MAC Gymnast of the Week. She has now earned 11 MAC weekly honors in her career.
On Friday, DeMers helped lead the Chippewas to a MAC dual victory over Eastern Michigan on Senior Night at CMU's McGuirk Arena. DeMers placed first and set a season high in the all-around with a 39.525 score. DeMers placed first, set season highs, and tied career highs on bars and floor, posting a 9.950 in both. She tied for first on vault (9.825) and placed fourth on beam with a season-best 9.800. DeMers led the Chippewas to a season-best 196.250 team total.
Central Michigan is 3-0 in MAC competition this year.
Central Michigan is back in action this weekend at Iowa State. The meet begins at 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT.
