Taylor Pitchell Named MAC Specialist of the Week

MAC honors Pitchell after she tied a career-high with a 9.950 floor score at Kent State Sunday.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—Senior Taylor Pitchell was named the Mid-American Conference's Gymnastics Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. It marks the first-ever MAC weekly honor for Pitchell, a Wethersfield, Conn. native.
Pitchell helped the Chippewas secure a win at Kent State on Sunday by placing first on floor with a career-high-tying score of 9.950. On the year, Pitchell has competed in both floor and beam. In floor, she has registered a 9.950, two 9.925s and a 9.900, while in beam, her top score is a 9.775.
Central Michigan will travel to Kent, Ohio to compete at the 2023 MAC Championship Meet on Saturday. The meet begins at 2 p.m.
