Hannah DeMers Earns Fourth All-MAC Honor

DeMers becomes the first gymnast in school history to earn regular season All-MAC honors in four consecutive seasons; DeMers is a Second Team All-MAC honoree.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—Central Michigan senior gymnast Hannah DeMers becomes the first gymnast in school history to earn All-MAC regular season honors in four consecutive seasons as she was named to the All-MAC Second Team on Saturday morning.
The All-MAC regular season announcement comes a few hours before the 2023 MAC Championship, which are being contested today at 2 p.m. at Kent State. The league will announce its major season award-winners following today's competition.
A number of gymnasts in school history have earned three consecutive honors, but DeMers becomes the first four-year honoree. She earned First Team All-MAC honors in both 2021 and 2022, and Second Team honors in 2020 and 2023).. Her season-high scores include a 39.525 in the all-around, 9.900 in vault, 9.950 in bars, 9.925 on beam, and 9.950 in floor. This year, DeMers also earned three MAC Gymnast of the Week awards.
Over her four-year career (2019-23), DeMers is a one-time MAC Gymnast of the Year (2022), three-time WCGA Academic All-American, two-time MAC champion (2021 uneven bars, 2022 all-around), two-time MAC Championship All-Tournament Team (2021, 2022), and two-time Academic All-MAC member (2021, 2022). DeMers has earned 13 total MAC weekly honors, including 12 Gymnast of Week accolades and one MAC Specialist of the Week award.
A native of Canton, Mich., DeMers majors in Health Administration.
Central Michigan competes in the MAC Championship this afternoon at Kent State (2 p.m.).
