Field Hockey Drops Home Finale to Miami (Ohio), 1-3

Pluciennik scores 2nd of season; League-leading Mikulášková tabs 5th defensive save
Mount Pleasant, Mich. — Central Michigan Field Hockey dropped its final home game of the year on Friday to Miami-Ohio, 1-3, at Cristy Freese Field.
Sophomore Cameron Pluciennik scored her second goal of the season in the third quarter on a penalty corner. The unassisted shot was deflected off the RedHawks goalie on a previous attempt from Mallory Camryn.
Defender Klára Mikulášková tabbed her fifth defensive save of the year in the second quarter. The Prague, Czech Republic sophomore continues to lead the Mid-American Conference in defensive saves.
The Chippewas took 12 shots, nine of which were on target. Camryn led the Chippewas with five shots, four on goal.
Carolena Ryon took three shots for CMU while Pauline Klep attempted two.
Freshman keeper Jenna Billig went the distance in goal for CMU, saving a career-high 17 shots.
CMU, now 3-12 overall and 0-7 in the league, finishes Mid-American Conference play on Friday, Nov. 1 at Ohio (2 p.m.). The Bobcats are 5-10, 2-5 MAC, having fallen to Ball State on Friday afternoon in overtime.
The Chippewas conclude their 2024 season on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Ohio State.
