Chippewas to host MAC Championships in 2025
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Gymnastics has announced its schedule for the 2025 season, complete with five home meets and the hosting of the Mid-American Conference Championships, CMU Athletics announced on Tuesday.
Led by Head Coach Christine MacDonald, CMU will introduce its 2025 roster for the first time on Nov. 25 (6 p.m.) at the Maroon and Gold Intrasquad, a tea showcase in McGuirk Arena that is open to the public.
Officially, the Chippewas are set to open the season on Jan. 4, 2025 in an afternoon head-to-head meet at Minnesota in the Golden Gophers' Maturi Pavilion.
CMU will host West Virginia on Jan. 12 and Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green on Jan. 17, before competing with the Falcons again in a second nonleague matchup at the Stroh Center on Jan. 26.
The Chippewas play the heart of the 2025 slate in February, with five of CMU's 11-regular season meets set for the 28-day month. CMU hosts its only multi-team meet of the year on Feb. 6, taking on SEMO and UW-Oshkosh, and will have a Valentine's Day matchup with Eastern Michigan on Feb. 14 in McGuirk Arena.
On the road, CMU competes at Ball State (Feb. 9), Kent State (Feb. 23) and non-league opponent Illinois State (Feb. 28) to round out the month.
The Chippewas take on reigning Mid-American Conference Champion Western Michigan on March 8 at Read Fieldhouse in Kalamazoo before rounding out the regular season against Northern Illinois in McGuirk Arena on March 14.
