
2024-25 Women’s Basketball Promotional Schedule Announced

Chippewas’ 14-game home schedule features Alumni game Dec. 22, Hoops for Hunger Jan. 22
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The 2024-25 Central Michigan Women's Basketball promotional slate was announced featuring themes, giveaways and ticket discounts across the 14-game home schedule for the upcoming season.
The third annual Canned Food Drive vs. Western Michigan will take place from Nov. 1-17—encompassing women's basketball games against Coastal Carolina (Nov. 4) and Bradley (Nov 17)—for which all members of the campus community (faculty/staff, students, fans, etc.) are invited to participate. Any and all non-perishable food items are welcome contributions and can be donated at Fan Central, the UC-Volunteer Center, the Indoor Athletic Complex (IAC), the Rose Center and the Student Activities Center (SAC).
All season long, kids 12 and under will be invited to shoot free throws on the court following each game.
All promotions and themes are subject to change. Stay tuned to CMU Athletics social media and CMUChippewas.com for an upcoming announcement for ticket discounts and promotions throughout the season.
GOLD OUT – vs. Coastal Carolina (Nov. 4)
Both basketball home-openers during the week will tie in the Gold Out theme. Fans are encouraged to wear gold to the event, will receive gold pompoms and "big heads" to be distributed by the Snake Charmers of the Snake Pit and can visit the candy station at Fan Central in recognition of National Candy Day. Fans can earn double Maroon & Gold Rewards points for attending.
YOUTH DAY – vs. Bradley (Nov. 17)
Bring the kids for the first home Sunday of the season for a Kids' Station for coloring pages and hand-written notes to the team and to participate in a pre-game high five tunnel as the Chippewas take the court. Fans will receive free CMU Basketball silicone bracelets upon arrival while supplies last and will have the opportunity for post-game autographs from the student-athletes. Parents can also submit lineup drawings made by their kids to the Athletics Marketing email (athmkt@cmich.edu) to be shown at
HOMETOWN HEROES – vs. Oakland (Nov. 24)
Celebrate the heroes of our local community as active-duty service members, veterans, medical professionals and first-responders are recognized during the event. Fans will receive red, white and blue LED foam sticks while kids 12 and under will be invited to the court for a post-game shootaround.
HAYNIAC DAY – vs. Concordia-Ann Arbor (Dec. 4)
Show your support for the program and Head Coach Kristin Haynie with gold "3" cards and Coach Haynie face sticks available upon arrival. The Snake Charmers will be distributing Coach Haynie "big heads" for the student section pregame.
ALUMNI & THROWBACK GAME – vs. Milwaukee (Dec. 22)
Central Michigan will invite the program's alumni back for the final home nonconference battle of the 2024-25 season, recognizing those in attendance at halftime. The afternoon's theme will feature throwback in-game music and encourage all in attendance to bring their ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win a contest at halftime. Another Kids' Station will be held as well, an opportunity to make holiday crafts.
MAC HOME OPENER – vs. Miami (OH) (Jan. 8)
Come on out for the first home Mid-American Conference game of the season and receive maroon and gold pompoms upon arrival. Fans will be able to participate in a game of Basketball Bingo, of which the first 25 winning cards reported to Fan Central will receive a prize.
MAROON OUT – vs. Toledo (Jan. 11)
Channel your Chippewa pride, come decked out in maroon as CMU hosts the Rockets. Fans in attendance will receive maroon rally towels, children 12 and under will again be invited to the floor for a post-game shootaround.
MICHIGAN MADE DAY – vs. Eastern Michigan (Jan. 18)
In recognition of National Michigan Day, fans will receive themed stickers and mini CMU flags. The Chippewas will invite a local youth choir for the national anthem, feature Michigan facts on the videoboard and be available for post-game autographs.
HOOPS FOR HUNGER – vs. Kent State (Jan. 22)
Central Michigan Women's Basketball will invite local school districts for a field trip to McGuirk Arena for the 14th edition of Hoops for Hunger. Children in attendance will receive Hoops for Hunger stickers prior to the game and are encouraged to bring their outside voices to cheer on the Chippewas. The annual food drive contest will aid the Greater Lansing Food Bank, as thousands of pounds of food have been donated through the contest each year. The contest ends December 1.
DETROIT SPORTS DAY – vs. Bowling Green (Feb. 1)
Fans will be encouraged to show their love of their Detroit professional teams for both sides of this basketball doubleheader by wearing gear representing the Detroit Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers. Keep an eye on CMU Athletics social media for upcoming announcements regarding this doubleheader.
PINK GAME / NATIONAL GIRLS & WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY – vs. Ohio (Feb. 5)
Time to break out your pink to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day! Fans will receive pink pompoms, pink "3" cards and have a chance to catch a pink t-shirt provided by game sponsor McLaren. Facts about girls and women in sports and breast cancer awareness will be shown on the videoboard.
PACK MCGUIRK – vs. Western Michigan (Feb. 22)
Come out and be loud as the arch-rival Broncos come to town late in the conference season. There will be t-shirt giveaways for CMU students and maroon pompoms for all in attendance.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH GAME – vs. Ball State (Feb. 26)
The Chippewas will celebrate Black History Month by inviting registered student organizations to table the event around the concourse and offer quotes from members of the women's basketball program on the videoboard. As it will throughout the month of February, Lift Every Voice and Sing will be played prior to the national anthem.
SENIOR DAY – vs. Akron (March 8)
In the final home game of the 2024-25 season, the Chippewas will recognize their two seniors in Senior Day celebration while fans can receive special "3" cards with the jersey numbers of Lisa Tesson and Jess Lawson on the back.
