MILWAUKEE — Central Michigan Lacrosse dropped a non-conference matchup at Marquette Friday afternoon, 17-6, inside the dome at Valley Fields.
For a fourth straight game, and eight time in 2024, junior goalie as Alexa Martel (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Olympia) posted double-digits in goal with 14 saves, having posted at least 13 in each of the last four outings. Half of her total came in the second quarter as the Chippewas battled back to within a 5-3 deficit in the early stages.
Reagan Martinsen (Long Beach, N.Y. / Long Beach) improved to 12 goals on the season as she and Natalie DiSanto (Waterloo, N.Y. / Waterloo) each picked up a pair of goals. Sandy Edwards (Stuart, Fla. / Jenson Beach) and Makenna Huhn (Parker, Colo. / Chaparral) joined in the scoring effort with two points apiece (one goal, one assist) while Anna Farrar (Milton, Ga. / Cambridge) and Alayna Davis (Rockford, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) each collected an assist.
Martel's performance also included six ground balls—now seventh all-time at CMU with 82 for her career—and a caused turnover.
Central Michigan Lacrosse will have an eight-day stretch before its next contest, visiting Youngstown State March 31 for its second Mid-American Conference matchup of the season, the first of a two-game trip that features a bout at Pittsburgh (April 2).
