Alvarado-Reid, Hornbacher Named to All-MAC Tournament Team

Alvarado-Reid and Hornbacher each claimed Individual MAC titles on Saturday at the 2024 MAC Gymnastics Championships
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan gymnasts Luciana Alvarado-Reid and Hallie Hornbacher have been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Tournament team following their performances at the MAC Championships on Saturday at Ball State, the league announced on Sunday afternoon.
Alvarado-Reid, a sophomore from Cartago, Costa Rica, earned her first individual MAC title on the uneven parallel bars by winning the event with a score of 9.925 on Saturday. The 2023 MAC Freshman of the Year finished 5th in the all around with a final score of 38.975, scoring 9.850 on floor and vault and 9.350 on beam.
It was also the first individual MAC title for Hornbacher, a senior from Caro, Michigan. With a score of 9.900 on Saturday, she was one of six to claim 1st place on the floor exercise.
The NCAA Gymnastics selection show for the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships will take place on Monday (12 p.m. ET) on NCAA.com.
