Alvarado-Reid Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Luciana Alvarado-Reid posts MAC-leading 39.275, two event wins at Bowling Green tri-meet
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Luciana Alvarado-Reid of Central Michigan Gymnastics has earned Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season, the league announced on Tuesday.
From Cartago, Costa Rica, Alvarado-Reid earned the award for the first time in 2025 on Jan. 14 after her performance against West Virginia.
The junior posted the current-highest all-around score in the MAC in the 2025 season on Jan. 26, totaling 39.275, which helped the Chippewas to a tri-meet victory over Bowling Green and Southeast Missouri State. Highlighted by a season-high 9.900 on floor and 9.800 on balance beam to win both events, she logged an additional 9.800 on bars and 9.775 on vault.
Alvarado-Reid ranks second in the league in the all-around with four event titles, two on balance beam and one each on the uneven bars and floor.
CMU is scheduled to compete in a non-league tri-meet with SEMO and UW-Oshkosh on Thursday, Feb. 6.
