Morson puts up 15 points, six rebounds to lead CMU against one of the nation’s elite defenses
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Central Michigan Women's Basketball had its four-game winning streak snapped Monday night at No. 19/23 Notre Dame, 83-51.

Madi Morson (Canton, Mich. / Salem) collected 15 points, six rebounds to lead the Chippewas in both categories, finished as the second-highest scorer in the contest behind a national player of the year frontrunner in the Fighting Irish's Hannah Hidalgo (25).

Seniors Taylor Anderson (South Lyon, Mich. / East) and Nekhu Mitchell (Baltimore, Md. / McDonogh) supplied eight points apiece and combined for eight rebounds.

The Chippewas fired out early in the contest as they shot seven-of-13 from the field in the first quarter to trail by just five at the first break, and managed to be within single-digits of Notre Dame as late as a 40-31 deficit early in the second half.

Notre Dame collected 28 turnovers from CMU in the contest as one of the nation's leading defenses in steals (18.3 per game).

The Irish narrowly outrebounded the Chippewas as well, 33-31, the first occurrence this season and just the sixth since the start of last season (37 games).

Central Michigan Women's Basketball returns to McGuirk Arena Sunday to host Purdue (Nov. 30; 1 p.m. ET) for Youth Day and the second of four straight matchups against power-conference opponents. The Chippewas visit No. 6/9 Michigan and No. 18/20 Kentucky in the first week of December.
