Morson puts up 15 points, six rebounds to lead CMU against one of the nation’s elite defenses
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Central Michigan Women's Basketball had its four-game winning streak snapped Monday night at No. 19/23 Notre Dame, 83-51.
Madi Morson (Canton, Mich. / Salem) collected 15 points, six rebounds to lead the Chippewas in both categories, finished as the second-highest scorer in the contest behind a national player of the year frontrunner in the Fighting Irish's Hannah Hidalgo (25).
Seniors Taylor Anderson (South Lyon, Mich. / East) and Nekhu Mitchell (Baltimore, Md. / McDonogh) supplied eight points apiece and combined for eight rebounds.
The Chippewas fired out early in the contest as they shot seven-of-13 from the field in the first quarter to trail by just five at the first break, and managed to be within single-digits of Notre Dame as late as a 40-31 deficit early in the second half.
Notre Dame collected 28 turnovers from CMU in the contest as one of the nation's leading defenses in steals (18.3 per game).
